Yoga and Meditation Workshop

What do you want to put your time and energy into this year, and how can you do those things with a sense of joy?
This workshop will provide time to reflect and explore these questions, helping you head into the 2019 with clarity and intention. In this two-hour experience, we’ll have a gentle and breath-centered practice, writing prompts, and meditation all designed to help you gain insight on what is important to you and how bring that insight into your daily life. *Wear comfortable clothes; bring your yoga mat and a journal or paper and a pen.

In Yoga, we work with prāṇa; the life force in our system that keeps your body, breath, and mind working well. Through breath, yoga postures and meditation, you’ll tune up your body’s ability to digest your experiences and then receive what’s there for you. The Jan/Feb class series has a special emphasis on the prāṇa of ‘digestion’ (samāna vāyu) and ‘assimilation’ (vyāna vāyu). You’ll learn to recognize it in yoga practice, and see how these functions support your life.
This slower-paced, viniyoga-style class gives time to postures and breathing techniques, culminating in stillness through meditation and reflection. It’s appropriate for those who like more time to transition between postures and who appreciate meditative movement. Over time, students gain flexibility, strength, breath-capacity and focus. Drop-in’s are available, but for the best experience, regular attendance is encouraged!
